I'm looking at the turtle beach elite 800 headset that comes out in October.

I leave mine set that way so if the kids want to play and I'm trying to read or something they can just plug in headphones, and unplugging them you get the full sound system back.

Sound is automatically routed to the TV and/or receiver. All audio goes through the controller to your headphones, not through the TV and/or receiver. Plug headphones into your controller and set your audio settings for your controller headphone jack to 'all' - that's chat and game audio, and interface sounds and probably movies and whatever. I get sound over HDMI through my TV and sound via my receiver via optical, so I turn down the TV.Īs for headsets, right now it's wired only via the controller, but this is it how it works. I'm guessing you could easily just hit mute on the TV/receiver but it'd be nice if the headset over-rode the speakers.
